COUNSELLING
Counselling provides you with a non-judgemental, confidential and empathetic environment in which to talk about issues that may be affecting your life.
Together we work together towards a solution to your issues and to help you to make meaningful and lasting changes to your life. I will guide you in coming to your own conclusions and I will support you, using empathy and analytical help as we tackle the issues that are making you unhappy or making it difficult for you to cope. At all times I will be driven by the issues that you want to talk about, as I use a person centred and humanistic approach.
I offer counselling in a variety of ways: the traditional in person session is one which offers the client an immediacy to their therapy and a safe space to talk about their issues. The new walk and talk sessions offer the benefits of counselling combined with the therapy of being outdoors in a natural setting. Wellness chats are a 20 minute chat about you and your wellbeing, to see how you are coping day to day. It is like an MOT for your mental health. Remote sessions, via Zoom or telephone, are convenient and flexible and are also helpful for those for whom access is sometimes a problem, for example if you are a wheelchair user.
The desire for change comes from within. Counselling can help you identify your issues and point you in the right direction. Counselling will support you and encourage you to help you harness your desire to make positive changes to your life in a guided and meaningful way. We all have times when we need support because we can’t cope on our own. I can provide that support for you.
